Barneys Has Posted A Response On Their Fb Web page
Barneys has posted a response on their Facebook page, offering clarification about worker participation in the incident.

Barneys New York and the brand new York Police Division have been slapped with a lawsuit by Trayon Christian, a school scholar from Queens, who was arrested on the luxurious division retailer in April.

The Put up reports that the 19-year-previous was at the store shopping for a $350 Salvatore Ferragamo belt, however following the purchase, he was stopped by undercover officers that have been allegedly referred to as on by a Barneys gross sales clerk who believed the transaction was fraudulent.
The lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, states that the NYC College of Know-how freshman was asked by the cops: “how a younger black man equivalent to himself could afford to purchase such an costly belt ” He was then handcuffed and taken to a local precinct.
Despite showing the officers the receipt for the belt, his ID and the debit card used, “Christian was informed that his identification was false and that he couldn’t afford to make such an costly buy,” Palillo mentioned.
Christian, who saved up money for the expensive accessory from his part-time job at school, mentioned he returned the belt and never filippo ferragamo boots plans to shop at the Madison Avenue retailer again. His story comes just days after one other instance of racial discrimination was reported in Baltimore when a black lady was allegedly fired from Hooters for having blonde highlights.
Barneys has not commented on the matter and Christian’s lawsuit against the store and the NYPD is for unspecified damages.
