Throwback Thursday, Flashback Friday … we’ve seen, heard, and used all of them. However ferragamo suede gancini loafer did we ever suppose these nostalgic themes would make their technique to our shoe wardrobes
After seasons of pointed-toe flats, energy pumps, and embellished celebration sandals, courtesy of shoe designer wunderkinds similar to Aquazzura and Paul Andrew (who was appointed Footwear Design Director at Salvatore Ferragamo last week), this fall is about welcoming more conventional silhouettes again into our lives.
However it’s not just back to boring fundamentals.
This season, shapes such as the classic ballet flat, the ankle boot, and even menswear-impressed loafers have been updated with the whole lot from elaborate embellishments to standout metallic hues.
This is footwear that’s meant to be seen. In reality, why not gown from the bottom up Living proof: “The high-shaft Chelsea boot is the important thing shape for fall 2016,” says Julie Hamelin Turcot, Women’s Accessory Buying Director at Simons. “But don’t wear this boot with a daily pant. Instead, excellent the look with cropped trousers or mid-calf-length dresses.”
Along with the Chelsea boot, ballet flats have made a comeback, thanks largely to Valentino and Miu Miu. Look to the latter for a model featuring interchangeable straps that lace up, bondage-type, over the foot. And instantly, they’re on every vogue editor’s want record for fall.
